PollutionPollution - is it as bad as they say?Few would argue that pollution is not really that bad. One of the main contributers to polution today is cars - pretty much anything that 'burns' is not great for the environment - but with the sheer number of cars on the roads today, and the rediculous number of miles travelled on a daily basis (arguably most of them are not necessary) the environment is getting a bigger 'kicking' than ever before. So what is the answer - ban the car? I don't think so - apart from the 'uproar' it would cause - the motor car provides an overwhelming positive contribution to everyday life - whether it is 'bringing people together' who live miles apart, taking people to hospitals etc. driving is an almost essential part of life today. So 'what' then? Do we limit what a car can and can't be used for? Do we impliment what some councils and even cities do, and say that you can only travel along certain roads/areas if you have more than 1 person in the car? I think that they might be on to something there... More to follow... in the mean time - try the 'driving lessons' article here (I guess that is connected with pollution!) Thanks.
